Huerray turns your mobile device into a soft, glowing source of colour. How you position it makes a big difference to how it feels. A few simple choices can turn a bright screen into a warm, immersive ambience.

Dim the room right down

Colour glows best in low light. Turn off or dim the main lights, draw the curtains and let the colours become the main light in the room. The darker the room, the richer the colour.

Face your mobile device towards a pale surface

Instead of looking straight at the screen, prop your mobile device up and point it at a plain white or pale wall, a ceiling, or a light-coloured curtain. The colour bounces back as a soft wash across the whole space rather than a harsh rectangle of light.

Try a plant, a pot or a textured surface

Placing your mobile device behind or beneath a leafy plant, a plant pot or a ceramic vase creates gentle glowing shadows and shapes. Textured walls and pale fabrics also add depth to the colour.

Use a mirror or glossy surface

Angle your mobile device towards a mirror, a glass tabletop or a shiny surface to bounce and multiply the colour around the room. Experiment with the angle until it looks and feels right.

Prop it up and leave it still

Lean your mobile device against a book, a cushion, a candle-free shelf or a small stand so it stays steady.

Use more than one mobile device
